Floor-mounted toilets are the standard unit in United States, while many European models are hung on the wall instead. Both wall-hung and floor-mounted toilets have their own benefits and disadvantages.
Floor-mounted toilets have a large water tank located against the wall, and a separate bowl. The drain pipe could extend from the bottom or the wall.
Wall-hung units have both tank and bowl as well, but only the bowl is visible, the tank and plumbing pipes is hidden behind the wall.
Installation

Normally we will use screws to lock floor-mounted toilets to the floor. If you are having a natural stone bathroom toilet, it may require that the floor be reinforced to support their weight.
The cistern of wall-hung toilets is sitting on a support frame, and the bowl is fastened to the carrier system through the wall.
Benefits and Disadvantages
Floor Mounted: Because floor-mounted toilets are the most widely used, enabling you to find many kinds of styles, and these models tend to be easier to install. The main advantage of floor-mounted units is that they take up a fairly large space, which may not be an ideal option for small bathrooms.
Wall Mounted Urinal: They are modern, space-saving and easy to clean, you can adjust the height when installation. But they are difficult to install and the wall needs to be taken down when you need remodeling. Moreover, they’re considerably more expensive than regular toilets.
